Dimitar Peew

Dimitar Alexandrow Peew ( Bulgarian Димитър Александров Пеев ; born July 7, 1919 in Plovdiv , Bulgaria ; died November 5, 1996 in Sofia , Bulgaria) was a Bulgarian writer, best known as an author of science fiction .

Life

Peew studied law and received a PhD in criminology . After completing his studies, he worked as a diplomat, military lawyer and, from 1957, as a journalist. In 1958 he published together with Kiril Maritschkow a first SF novel Ракетата не отговаря ("The rocket does not answer"). In 1966 the first detective novel Алиби ("Alibi") was published. The novella Das Photonenraumschiff (1964) and the short story Das Haar aus Mohammed's beard were published in German translation in the GDR.
