Dimityr Dobrovich
Dimityr Dobrowitsch , actually Dobrowitsch Dimityr Pechliwanow ( Bulgarian Димитър Георгиев Добрович * 1816 in Sliven , † 2. March 1905 ) was a Bulgarian painter .
Life
Dobrovich graduated from the Art Academy in Rome in 1853 , making him the first academically trained painter in Bulgaria. While still a student, he took part in the uprising of Giuseppe Garibaldi and Giuseppe Mazzini in 1848 . He finally returned to Bulgaria in 1893.
The portraits and pictures he created often depict simple people. His artistic work was influenced by the Italian Late Romanticism .
