Ding Hongyu (* 1932 ) worked as a Taijiquan and Qigong teacher at the universities of Shuzhou and Nanjing PR China. Since the late 1950s he has been engaged in Taijiquan and Qigong. He worked in various institutions to research the effects of Taijiquan and Qigong. In Germany, among other things, he became known for broadcasting the teaching program "DaYan (" Wild Goose ") Qigong", this film was broadcast by Südwestfunk (Baden-Baden) and the Qigong poster of the AOK, for which he was the "model". He was also involved in the publication of various specialist books from the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg . He also shaped the understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Qigong of the members of the German Qigong Society e. V. (DQGG) which was founded in 1990. During his stays in Germany, from 1988 to 2007, he was involved in the training of many Qigong students in the still young Qigong development in Germany. At a seminar he once said "You shouldn't live on medication or the doctor" with regard to Taiji and Qigong. Both methods help to promote your own life energy and inner balance.

Professional background

In 1957, Ding Hongyu graduated from Suzhou University with a degree in sports science. 1957-1993 he worked at Nanjing University . He taught sports science and sports training and worked in the field of sports research (1964 one year of further education with other Chinese sports teachers at the BeiJing Sports University). During many years of studies in sports theories and his teaching practice, Ding Hongyu combined sports with Chinese medicine and provided the theoretical starting points for the prevention of diseases and for maintaining health. Since 1988 he has been to Germany 14 times and has been invited by the University of Oldenburg , the German Qigong Association, Mettnau Kur, Tus Traunreut etc. and has given various courses and seminars on Qigong and Taiji Quan. He has thereby contributed to the cultural exchange between East and West. In 1991 he was involved in the film adaptation of the teaching program "DaYan (" Wild Goose ") Qi Gong". This film was broadcast by Südwestfunk (Baden-Baden); In 1995 Ding Hongyu developed the “5 organs Qigong” and teaches it in Germany. In 1996 he modified the shape of " BaDuanJin " ("Eight Brocade Pieces "). In the following year he developed the "Bao Jian Qigong 2" (health-protecting Qigong 2) and in 1998 the form of the "health exercise with the plate rotation" (PanZi Gong - plate gong) . In 2012 he developed the "tendon and bone qigong" (Jingu Gong) and in 2014 the "life-extending exercises" (Laoren Yanshou Fa). In between he published various articles on maintaining health in specialist magazines in China.
