Dingo Pictures (actually: Dingo Productions Haas and Ickert Partnership, Filmmaker ) is an animation company based in Friedrichsdorf , which is run by the musician Ludwig Ickert (* 1946) and the book author Roswitha Haas (* January 28, 1940; † December 8, 2015) in Was founded in 1992 under the name Media Concept . Both became known for their animated films on video game consoles.
history
In the early 1990s, Ludwig Ickert, who became famous in the 1960s through the band The Rangers (Ickert, Robert Wolf, Marek Lieberberg , Jürgen Kessner & Axel Schürmann), founded the Media company together with Roswitha Haas, who later wrote various children's books Concept.
In 1992 the first film Greek sagas was released: Perseus.
Films like Aladin and The Most Beautiful Stories of the Easter Bunny followed later . Parts of the film now serve as a learning program.
In addition to animated films, picture book films have also been published.
In 2005 the last film so far appeared with The Little Witch Arischa .
Local or national acquaintances such as B. Rainer Maria Ehrhardt or Georg Feils committed.
Many of the films from 1994 onwards were translated into English and other languages and distributed by Midas Interactive and Phoenix Games on PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii until 2010. There were also versions of some films for Philips' CD-i system and as radio plays on CD and MC.
The original distributors for the films on VHS and music cassette were Best Buy Video and Jünger Verlag, later the company's films were distributed by various DVD companies, with Power Channel GmbH and Best Entertainment being two of the most common. DVDs and CDs were later sold in their own online shop.
Since around 2015, Dingo Pictures has gained prominence through reviews of their films on the video platform YouTube. An excerpt from a Dingo Pictures film is also the first video in the popular YouTube playlist Important Videos .
Some films are currently considered lost in both English and German.
In addition to Dingo Pictures, Ickert appears with old bandmates in his home country. Haas wrote various children's books until her death in 2015, including Jim Knopf - Erstlesebuch (2000) and In a Land Before Our Time - The Island (2001). She was also involved in the movie Dinosaur (2000).
