Dino Bucciol

Dino Bucciol (born February 4, 1970 in Vancouver ) is a retired Canadian - Italian American football player.

career

Bucciol's parents immigrated to Canada from Italy , he was born in Vancouver and played American football at the local Notre Dame Regional Secondary School. At the college level, the quarterback , who also holds Italian nationality, played for the Simon Fraser University team and was later inducted into the British Columbia Football Association's Hall of Fame .

From 1993 to 1999 Bucciol played with the Hamburg Blue Devils in Germany , initially in a double role as quarterback and safety . In 1996 he became German champions with the Hanseatic League, in 1996, 1997 and 1998 they won the Eurobowl . The Canadian was the favorite of the supporters in Hamburg and was nicknamed "Dino-Darling". For the 2000 season, Bucciol moved to his parents' home country and joined the Bergamo Lions , with whom he won the Eurobowl in 2000, 2001 and 2002. In the final of 2000, he defeated Bergamo his former team from Hamburg in the Volksparkstadion .
