The Dionex Corporation ( NASDAQ : DNEX), also briefly Dionex , is an American technology company based in Sunnyvale (California) . The company develops, produces, sells and services chromatography and extraction systems as well as database management systems for the pharmaceutical industry and environmental technology, life science and biotechnology. There are also production sites and subsidiaries in Germany (including Dionex Softron GmbH ). Dionex has been part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific group of companies since 2011 .
history
The forerunner of Dionex Corporation was founded in 1975 as a manufacturer of ion chromatography products. In 1998 Softron GmbH, based in Germering near Munich , and with it the German HPLC manufacturer Gynkotek and the Chromeleon data system were taken over. At the end of 2010 it was announced that Thermo Fisher Scientific would take over Dionex for just under 1.6 billion euros. Since May 17, 2011, Dionex has officially been part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific group of companies.
