Diphenyl methyl ester
Diphenyl methyl esters , also benzhydryl esters , are among the carboxy protective groups in peptide synthesis . The methods known in organic chemistry, starting from free amino acids or N -protected amino acid derivatives, are used to represent the amino acid esters.
Cleavage of the protective group
The protective group can be split off with reformation of the carboxy group by
- Hydrogenolysis (H 2 / Pd)
- Trifluoroacetic acid , CF 3 COOH
- Hydrochloric acid / acetic acid
- Boron trifluoride etherate / acetic acid
