Diplomatic goods

Diplomatic goods are a technical term from customs traffic .

"Diplomatic cargo" (also "diplomatic cargo") refers to goods that are imported , transported from a free zone or purchased following a customs warehousing procedure for personal use or consumption by members of the diplomatic missions or their family members in Germany are determined. Under the condition of "reciprocity" in the relationship between states, these goods are duty-free. In Germany this is stipulated in accordance with the German Customs Ordinance (Section 17 of the Customs Ordinance of December 23, 1993, Federal Law Gazette I 2449).

Goods for use or consumption by a foreign head of state during his stay in the survey area also fall under “diplomatic goods”.

The same applies to "consular goods": This refers to goods that are intended for the importation for personal use or consumption for the head, the consular members and the business staff of the consular post.
