Dippoldiswald stoneware
Dippoldiswalder Steinzeug are ceramic vessels made of stoneware that were used in the 17th and 18th centuries. Century.
In museums, literature and catalogs of the art trade, this stoneware has been referred to as Annaberger Steinzeug and Freiberg Steinzeug . More recent research results from urban archeology have proven production in Dippoldiswalde beyond any doubt and confirmed the same materials and technical manufacturing processes through scientific studies. Corresponding ceramic productions in Annaberg and Freiberg could not be proven.
The town of Dippoldiswalde has been proven as a place of manufacture in archival, art-historical, archaeological and scientific research (pottery waste).
