Dirección Nacional de Inteligencia (DNI for short, German  National Directorate for Intelligence ) is a civil agency and the intelligence service of Colombia . It was established by President Juan Manuel Santos on November 4, 2011 after the dissolution of the Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad (DAS) . The DNI tracks the provision of internal and external law enforcement and immigration control information and reports only to the President of Colombia .

The official tasks of the DNI include the collection of national and international intelligence and counter-espionage from a civil and military point of view, aimed at fulfilling the essential interests of the Republic of Colombia . The purpose of the national intelligence service is to protect the nation and the people living in Colombia. Internal or external threats that call the existence of the democratic regime into question must also be fought off. The DNI also serves the Colombian constitution and legal system, security and national defense. This happens u. a. so that the President of the Republic and the government can enforce the requirements for handling their sovereign tasks in secret service matters, as well as essential tasks of the state in accordance with the law.
