The term Direct Downloads ( DDL ) denotes links for the direct downloading (downloading) of files (as opposed to file sharing ) and is often used on Warez websites.

Mostly ad-financed share hosts such as RapidShare , which provide free storage space on their servers, have prevailed . There, files are made available by different, mostly anonymous users. Some successful hosters manage to finance themselves not through advertising, but exclusively through income from so-called premium accounts .

Can be downloaded via simple HTTP - or FTP - Server done. Often download manager like jDownloader or CryptLoad used to compensate for the restricted by Sharehoster comfort.
