Dirk Cussler

Dirk Cussler (born 1961 in the United States ) is an American writer .

He is the son of bestselling author Clive Cussler , whose most famous hero Dirk Pitt bears his first name. Dirk Cussler, who used to work in the financial world, has co-authored his father's Pitt novels since the 2004 book Black Wind .

He is also chairman of the advisory board of the non-profit organization National Underwater and Marine Agency (NUMA), based on the fictitious model founded by his father .
