Dirk Drescher

Dirk Drescher (born February 28, 1968 in Schwerte ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Bundesliga use

On the first day of the 1985/86 season , the then youth player of VfL Bochum sat on the bench as a substitute goalkeeper in the away game against 1. FC Nürnberg . Since VfL number 1, Ralf Zumdick , was injured before the start of the season, Markus Croonen was in the starting line-up. In the 25th minute of the game, Croonen got the red card when the score was 0-0 . Then Drescher came on for Stefan Kuntz . The high school student remained clean; Bochum won the game 1-0. This game was to be Drescher's only Bundesliga appearance.

Further life

The family man played for amateur clubs, interrupted by a long break due to a ruptured kidney. He now trains the goalkeepers of the Sportfreunde Oestrich-Iserlohn club . His main job is as a police officer.
