Marcus Croonen (born March 19, 1964 in Duisburg ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .
career
Marcus Croonen started his career with the Rahm in Duisburg. He came to VfL Bochum via MSV Duisburg . Croonen was appointed to the professional team in 1984 from the amateurs of VfL Bochum . There, however, he was in the shadow of the goalkeeper Ralf Zumdick during his two-year professional career . In the 1985/86 season, Zumdick was injured and Croonen had to go into goal at the start of the season. However, he saw the red card during the game and Dirk Drescher had to go into the goal. In the course of the season Croonen came to three more missions. At the end of the season he left VfL Bochum and did not return to professional football. In the 1986/87 season Croonen played in the Oberliga Westfalen at Preußen Münster . He moved to SC Hassel in Gelsenkirchen. The move to the Oberliga Hessen followed . In 1992 he reached the final of the German amateur championship with SpVgg Bad Homburg . He then played for FSV Frankfurt and SV Wiesbaden . For SG Egelsbach , he played exactly 20 games in the Regionalliga Süd between 1994 and 1996 . Croonen won the Hessen Cup in 1994 , but missed the final. He managed to be appointed for the Lower Rhine, Westphalian and Hessian amateur selection.
Today, Marcus Croonen is the managing director of a service company in the energy industry.
