Dirk Gellrich (born September 12, 1964 in Osnabrück ) is a German former football player and today's coach.

Career

The defender comes from Osnabrück, where he played in youth for VfR Voxtrup and from 1981 for VfL Osnabrück . Gellrich quickly became a regular player in the second division team of Osnabrück and developed there into an important pillar in the defense. For VfL Osnabrück he played 278 games in the 2nd Bundesliga .

In the summer of 1994 he moved to the Oldenburger Land to the regional league club VfB Oldenburg , after playing only a little in Osnabrück. With the Oldenburgers he completed 29 missions in the Regionalliga Nord , in which he scored one goal.

After only one season, he left the Oldenburg and joined the league competitor FC Gütersloh , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in his first season . In the second division season 1996/97 Dirk Gellrich was used six times before ending his career.

From 2003 Gellrich trained the BSV Holzhausen. After 13 years of cooperation, BSV Holzhausen parted ways with him at the end of the 2015/16 season.
