Dirk Happe

Dirk Happe (born February 16, 1966 in Paderborn ) is a German basketball coach and former player.

career

In 1983 and 1984, Happe took part in European championship tournaments with the German cadet and junior national team.

In 1984, Happe rose to the 2nd basketball league with VBC 69 Paderborn  , followed by promotion to the basketball league in 1994 , and the team has now been called Forbo Paderborn.

For the 1995/96 season, the 1.83 meter tall player moved to TuS Herten (also Bundesliga) and returned after a year to the Paderborn team, who have since returned to the second division. During the 1997/98 season, Happe moved within the second division from Paderborn to TV Salzkotten .

After his playing career, he worked as a coach in Salzkotten, then in Paderborn, supervising the youth team and the second men's team. In February 2010, he was promoted to coach of the East Westphalia Bundesliga team after the club, in the bottom of the table,  had separated from Olaf Stolz . However, Happe was unable to prevent relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA and gave up the post after the end of the 2009/10 season. Between 2010 and 2015, Happe was sports director in Paderborn. He is also involved in the Paderborn Baskets 91 e. V. as Vice President (area of ​​responsibility: Bundesliga).
