Olaf Stolz (born November 5, 1965 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German basketball coach .

career

From 1985, Stolz was initially a trainer in the junior division at TuS Herten. From 1991 to 1998 he worked full-time as the regional coach of the basketball association Baden-Württemberg, in addition, he worked as co-trainer of the first division women's team of SSC Karlsruhe and the second division men of USC Heidelberg . In the meantime, he completed a master's degree in sports science at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . From summer 1998 to summer 2000 he was an assistant trainer on the staff of the women's team at BTV Wuppertal , which won two German championships during that time and reached the semi-finals of the Euroleague for women in 1999 .

Between 2000 and 2007, Stolz was in the service of the German Basketball Federation and from 2003 to the end of 2006 he was the national coach of the women's national team. He also coached the female U16 and U18 national teams. In the 2006/07 season, Stolz was the head coach of the Luxembourg men's first division club BBC Sparta Bertrange. Under his leadership, the team won the championship title in spring 2007. Then he worked again in Germany: In June 2007 he was hired as the new head coach of the second division Dragons Rhöndorf and remained in office until the end of the 2008/09 season. In the summer of 2009 he became the head coach of the Paderborn Baskets in the basketball league . In February 2010, after five defeats in a row, the club was given a leave of absence. In the 2010/11 season he worked for BBC Sparta Bertrange in a second term and led the team to the runner-up.

For the 2012/13 season he took over the post of head coach at the team Rhöndorf / Bonn in the youth basketball league (he looked after the team until 2016), became an individual trainer in the youth department of Telekom Baskets Bonn and took over the sporting management. In June 2013 he also took over the post of national coach of the German A2 national team and supervised the selection at the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia . In 2014 he was succeeded by Henrik Rödl as A2 trainer. In January 2019, in addition to his role as head of the Bonn youth department, he took over the coaching of the Bonn / Rhöndorfer Spielgemeinschaft in the youth basketball league (JBBL).
