Dirk Looschelders

Dirk Looschelders (born October 21, 1960 in Lüchow (Wendland) ) is a German legal scholar . Since 1999 he has held the chair for civil law , private insurance law , international private law , comparative law and legal theory at the University of Düsseldorf .

Life

Looschelders studied law at the University of Mannheim from 1982 , where he passed the first state examination in 1987. In 1990 he passed the assessor exam and became a research assistant at the University of Mannheim. In 1995 he did his doctorate and in 1998 he also qualified as a professor in Mannheim. After a short time as a private lecturer in Mannheim, he took over a professorship in Heidelberg in 1999, before he was also appointed to Düsseldorf in 1999. He turned down calls to the Universities of Cologne and Mannheim in 2007 and 2008.
