Gerald Maesch

Gerald Mäsch (born April 30, 1964 ) is a German legal scholar . Since 2004 he has held the chair for civil law , international private law , comparative law , civil procedural law and European business law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster .

Life

Mäsch was born in 1964. From 1984 to 1990 he studied law in Passau and Geneva . In 1992 he received his doctorate in Passau with a dissertation on freedom of choice and consumer protection. From 1994 to 1997 he was a research assistant in Munich and then established himself as a lawyer. In 2003 he completed his habilitation with Chance und Schaden in Munich, venia legendi for civil law, international private law, comparative law, civil procedural law and European business law and was admitted to the French bar in the same year with the examen d'aptitude . Before he was appointed to Münster, he was substitute for professorships in Munich and Heidelberg.
