Dirk Steinborn

Dirk Steinborn (born August 11, 1946 in Berlin ) is a German chemist and professor of inorganic chemistry at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg .

life and work

Steinborn studied chemistry at the Humboldt University in Berlin . He moved to the Technical University of Leuna-Merseburg , where he wrote his diploma thesis in the field of organometallic chemistry in the working group of Rudolf Taube in 1974 .

After completing his diploma thesis, Steinborn first worked in the chemical industry. After his graduation in 1984, he received the following year teaching certificate . In 1987 he became a lecturer at the Technical University of Leuna-Merseburg. In 1992 he followed a call to the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.

Steinborn's research focus is on organometallic chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry and organometallic complex catalysis .
