Dirk Wicke

Dirk Wicke (* 1973 ) is a German archaeologist from the Middle East and professor at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

Life

He received his doctorate from Reinhard Dittmann in Münster in 2003 and completed his habilitation in 2009 at the Institute for Egyptology and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . Since 2015 he has been the successor to the chair in Frankfurt am Main last held by Jan-Waalke Meyer .

From 2007 to 2014 Wicke directed the excavations in Ziyaret Tepe .
