Disciples of Power is a Canadian death and thrash metal band from Edmonton that was formed in 1985, split up in 2002 and reunited in 2012.

history

The band was formed in Medicine Hat in 1985 after the band Warthorn split up. Founder Hart Bachmier moved the band's base to Edmonton in 1987. After the first two demos were released in 1988, the band was included on the compilation Writing In Stone . As a result, the band reached a contract with Fringe Records and moved their headquarters to Ottawa . In 1989, the debut album Powertrap came out before the band toured Canada. After that, the band went to Vancouver to record a music video for the song Crisis . Then the band moved their headquarters again to Edmonton, where the recording of the second album Ominous Prophecy followed. Further tours followed the release. A music video was also recorded for the song Nature's Fury . In 1993, the third album Invincible Enemy followed on their own label Mindtgash Records. They also released a revised version of their debut album on this label. The song The Brutal Re-Mix from this album also received a music video. The fourth album Mechanikill followed in 1996 . In the following years the band only went on tour sporadically, as the members now also devoted themselves to other music projects. There were also various changes in the line-up. In 2002 the band broke up and got back together in 2012.

style

At the beginning the band played technically slightly demanding Thrash and Speed Metal with light hardcore influences. The other releases became even more technically demanding, with Thrash Metal now also mixed with Death Metal.
