Discovery Cove is a water park in Orlando , Florida that opened in the summer of 2000. The park is modeled on a tropical island. It is the SeaWorld Group's third theme park in Orlando , alongside SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica . SeaWorld theme parks are owned by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment , a subsidiary of the Blackstone Group .
In contrast to other animal parks and zoos, guests can experience life underwater here directly. Visitors can swim with dolphins with an instructor or snorkel through an artificially recreated coral reef with rays and other fish.
The park also includes a free flight enclosure with parrots , toucans, and other exotic birds. The tropical river runs right through the free flight hall.
Discovery Cove Dubai
On February 28, 2008, Busch Entertainment Corp. announced at SeaWorld Orlando that another park will be opened in Dubai in 2012 .
