District (Sweden)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 2523 districts of Sweden

The district has been a household name in the Swedish so-called " folkbokföring " since January 1, 2016 and is the smallest geographical administrative unit on the basis of which the Swedish statistical office , Statistiska centralbyrån , conducts annual censuses. Therefore, all were in Sweden "people carrying out" (folkbokförda) people both in the political municipality ( kommun ) also registered in the district as well.

The division of Sweden into statistical districts corresponds to the division into the 2523 församlingar (in the sense of the people's accounts) of the Swedish Church on December 31, 1999. Membership in a statistical församling was independent of membership in the Church of Sweden.
