Ditammari (also: Ditamari , Tamari , Somba , Soma , Some , Tamberma ) is the language of the Tammari people .
Most of them live in Togo and Benin .
The number of speakers is approx. 47,500 ( SIL 2002). Around 27,500 (SIL 2002) Ditammari speakers live in Togo. In Benin there are around 20,000 (SIL 2002).
In Togo, the Ditammari speakers live mainly in the Kara region , in the Kandé prefecture east of Kandé on the border with Benin. The main places in Togo where Ditammari is spoken are Nadoba, Wantema, Warengo and Koutougou.
In Benin, the Ditammari speakers mainly live in the Atakora Province in the sub-prefectures of Boukombe and Natitingou. Ditammari is one of the Gur languages .
