Division I (chess) 1959
The Division I in 1959 was the tenth Swedish team championship in chess ( Allsvenskan ) while the seventh staging in a league mode with ascent and descent.

The competitions were held in Gothenburg on October 31 and November 1 .
Tournament course
The SK Rockaden defeated all competitors and defended his title. The second place went to a Stockholm club with the promoted Schack-27 Kamraterna Stockholm , while the second promoted SK Kamraterna Göteborg and Stockholms Södra SS were relegated . The Gothenburgers were spared relegation, however, because in 1960 instead of the Stockholm club teams, a Stockholm district selection took place in Division I and thus two places were free.
