Djenné is the name of a district ( French cercle de Djenné ) in the Mopti region in Mali .

The district is divided into the twelve communities Djenné (main town), Dandougou Fakala , Dérary , Fakala , Femayé , Kéwa , Madiama , Néma-Badeya-Kafo , Niansanari , Ouro Ali , Pondori , Togué Mourari . The population of the district was 207,260 in the 2009 census.
