Djevleporten ( Norwegian for Hell Gate ) is a narrow strait in the South Atlantic . It separates Cape Valdivia on Bouvet Island from the northern cliff Gjest Baardsenstøtta .
Scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute named it in 1980.
