Djibasso is both a commune ( French commune urbaine ) and a department encompassing the same area in Burkina Faso , in the Boucle du Mouhoun region and the Kossi province . The community has 49,703 inhabitants in 53 villages and six sectors of the main town, the majority of them Bwaba .
Djibasso is a trading center in the border area with Mali .
