Both overhead line crossings each consist of a row of basically conventional overhead line pylons, which stand on caissons in the water of the lake. They were completely assembled in a dry dock and then transported to their locations by tugs. There the caissons were lowered to the bottom of the 4.6 km wide lake.

The first of these two overhead lines was built in 1977 and is used to transport the electricity generated in the Zaporizhia coal and gas power station. It consists of five masts with a height of 100 meters and two with a height of 90 meters. The distance between the masts is between 810 and 920 meters.

In 1984 a second single-circuit 750 kV line was added, which is used to transport energy from the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant . It consists of three masts with a height of 126 meters and two with a height of 100 meters. Here the mast spacing is between 1215 and 1350 meters.
