The Zaporizhia Power Plant ( Ukrainian ЗАПОРІЗЬКА ТЕС ) is a coal and gas power plant in the Ukrainian city of Enerhodar in the Zaporizhia Oblast . It is in the immediate vicinity of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant .
The thermal power plant has an output of 3600 megawatts . The two 320 m high chimneys are the tallest structures in the oblast. In 2009 the power plant produced 2,361.8 gigawatt hours of energy and emitted 1.947 million tons of carbon dioxide , which corresponds to a CO 2 intensity of 825 grams per kilowatt hour.
