Tze Liang Ooi (born November 19, 1993 in Pulau Pinang ) is a Malaysian water diver .

Career

Ooi started diving at the Penang International Sports Arena in Malaysia at the age of eight . He celebrated his first international success at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou , where he and his partner Bryan Nickson Lomas won the silver medal in synchronized jumping from the 10-meter tower.

At the 2011 Southeast Asian Games in Palembang , he won the silver medal from the 10-meter board. Two years later at the 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw , he won the gold medal and silver in the 10-meter individual jumping in the disciplines of 3-meter artificial jumping, 3-meter synchronized jumping and 10-meter synchronized jumping. At the 2015 Southeast Asian Games, he won all four competitions.

At the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Scotland Glasgow he won after the second place in the qualification in diving from 3-meter springboard gold medal. Two days later, he secured the silver medal behind Thomas Daley in diving from the 10-meter board . In the synchronized jumping from the 3-meter board, he was fourth with his partner Chew Yiwei, just behind the medal ranks . Both of them finished third from the 10-meter tower, but due to the weak field of participants, only four teams did not award a bronze medal.
