Southeast Asian Games 2011
The 26th Southeast Asian Games took place from November 11-22 , 2011 in Palembang and Jakarta , Indonesia .
organization
Indonesia hosted the Southeast Asian Games for the fourth time. At the same time, the 6th ASEAN ParaGames for physically disabled athletes began and ended 2 weeks after the SOA games in Surakarta . Palembang, the capital of South Sumatra, was the main venue for the Games with a total of 296 events, while the capital Jakarta hosted 266 events. Palembang also hosted the opening and closing ceremonies.

A total of 11 countries took part (number of participants in brackets if known): Brunei , Cambodia (163), Indonesia (1059), Laos , Malaysia (608), Myanmar (477), Philippines (512), Singapore (417), Thailand ( 882), East Timor (93) and Vietnam (608).
