Doc Alliance

"Doc Alliance" - "The New Deal for Documentary Films" is a collaboration between seven major European documentary film festivals: CPH: DOX Copenhagen ( Denmark ), Doclisboa ( Portugal ), Docs Against Gravity FF ( Poland ), DOK Leipzig ( Germany ), FID Marseille ( France ), Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival ( Czech Republic ) and Visions du Réel Nyon ( Switzerland ).

The aim of the Doc Alliance is to stimulate the documentary genre and to promote qualitatively creative documentaries. Doc Alliance is based in Prague and was founded in 2008. It is financially supported by Creative Europe, the Czech Film Fund and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

DAFilms.com is the Doc Alliance's online distribution platform and is home to more than 1,700 films; from historical films to retrospectives by leading documentary filmmakers. The database contains films by filmmakers such as: Ulrich Seidl , Jørgen Leth (Jens Leth) (New Scenes From America) and Chris Marker (The Fall Of The Grinning Cat).

Doc Alliance selection and award

The Doc Alliance Award is a prize for the best European feature length documentary with a special focus on creative documentaries and exceptional talent. Each participating festival nominates their film for participation in the competition. The award ceremony has been taking place at the Locarno Festival since 2015 .
