Dodington Hall

Dodington Hall is a country house in the village of Dodington in the English county of Somerset . It originated in the 15th century and was listed by English Heritage as a Grade II Historic Building.

The house was built from local red sandstone and has a slate roof with several chimneys.

In the open hall there is a decorated ceiling, and there is another in the salon wing, which also contains heraldic glasses that have been preserved from the original furnishings from 1485 to the present day.

The manor house was expanded in 1581 but then fell into disrepair and was used as a farmhouse in the 17th century.

In the basement under the kitchen there is a water wheel that drives the rotisserie in the kitchen.
