Doctor Ulebuhle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Doctor Ulebuhle is the main character in a series of fairytale-like short stories by the astronomer and writer Bruno H. Bürgel .

As Ulebuhle, Bürgel described a strange old scholar who explained the world to the children in the neighborhood with small, often fantastic stories and thus imparted scientific , technical and social science knowledge.

The strange stories of Doctor Ulebuhle - "A book for young and old who stayed young" - appeared for the first time in 1920 with illustrations by Edmund Fürst bei Ullstein . They had great success in the 1920s, as did the new editions after 1945. Bürgel is considered to be the founder of popular science literature for children and young people in Germany.
