The Chilean National Park Volcán Isluga is located in the Andes , in the Tarapacá region , near Colchane on the border with Bolivia . To the north of the park is the Lauca Biosphere Reserve . The national park has a size of 1747 square kilometers and lies at an altitude between 2100 and 5550 meters above sea ​​level . It is named after the highest mountain in the region, the Volcán Isluga, with a height of 5550 meters. Special attractions of the park are salt lakes , Andean condors , pumas , flamingos , guanacos , llamas and vizcachas . There are also two thermal springs in the park. Birds can be observed on extensive hiking trails. The main access leads from Iquique to Huara and from there onto the A-55 for about 180 km towards Colchane.

The park encompasses the cultural heritage of the Aymara people . There are several ceremonial sites within the park, such as B. Isluga .
