Dolce (heraldic animal)

Dolce referred to Heraldry an emblem that a special form of heraldic Panthers is.

A panther is shown with hooves on all feet and a goat's tail curved towards the back. The heraldic animal appears in the coats of arms of Friuli and Veneto. The origin of the designation can be traced back to the Venetian book of arms "Der Adriati Löw" (Altdorf 1704, p. 14) by Johann Christoph Wagenseil and goes back to the noble family Dolce. The term was later used by Italian heraldists for similar, often not clearly identifiable animals that the aristocracy Dolce wielded, and equated with the Styrian panther. In Italian heraldry , dolce is often emblazoned for the panther .
