Dolmen on Brandsø
The dolmen on Brandsø are located on the approximately 2.0 km² large, uninhabited island of Brandsø in the Little Belt , about 15 km northwest of Assens in Denmark . The megalithic systems of the Neolithic Funnel Beaker Culture (TBK) are particularly well-known through the paintings from 1842 by Dankvart Dreyer (1816–1852). They are between 3500 and 2800 BC. Was built.
On the island there are two dolmens , the Langdysse "Svenskehøj" ( German "Schwedenhügel" ) and the Runddysse "Kæmpehøj", ( German "Knight's Hill" ), which were immortalized in paintings by Dankvart Dreyer. Svenskehøj lies in a 20.0 meter long barn bed, once with two chambers. The round hill from the same period is about 14.0 meters in diameter and a dolmen with a 3.0 meter long capstone. On Brandsø, archaeologists have found large amounts of worked flint from the Neolithic Age and tools such as an arrowhead .
Brandsø belongs to Wedellsborg Gut, which has been owned by Bendt Hannibal Tido Graf Wedell since 1982.
