Dolmen de la Garenne (La Mothe-Saint-Héray)
The Dolmen de la Garenne ( German "the rabbit hole" ) is located in a clearing near the hamlet of La Villedieu de Comblé in the commune of La Mothe-Saint-Héray in the Deux-Sèvres department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).
The dolmen is still in its hill. A capstone of around 4.0 × 3.0 m can be seen lying on various, crumbled support plates. To the east lie stones that could be the remains of another chamber or a passage. It is possible that there are two chambers that open to the south.
