Dolmen of the country
The Dolmen des Landes (also called Allée couverte de la Pierre Levée des Landes) is located in a field in Bazoges-en-Pareds near Chantonnay in the Vendée department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).
The country's dolmen is an allée couverte . It has a long, split capstone that rests in the remains of a hill over seven bearing stones, most of which are in situ .
The dolmen has been classified as a monument historique since 1927. About 20 m north of the dolmen is the country's 3.0 m long menhir .
