Busnela Pseudodolmen

The Dolmen of Busnela ( Spanish dolmen semirrupestre de Busnela ) is a rock formation on a hill south of Busnela, in the municipality of Merindad de Valdeporres in the south of the province of Burgos on the left bank of the Rio Nela in Castile and León , in Spain .

Busnela Pseudodolmen

It is a so-called paradolm whose structure only resembles a dolmen . It consists of a large rock, the ceiling plate of which is supported by seven large, lying sandstone slabs . The length of the main axis is about 7.0 m and the height reaches 2.3 m. Although it is commonly viewed as a dolmen, its use as such has been challenged by the lack of a mound. No finds were made.

Pseudo- or paradolms are known from different regions: Cova d'en Genís , Dolmen von Chevresse , Dolmen von Solwaster , Pierre au Rey , La Table des Géants in Reinhardsmunster and L'autel des Druides in Pfaffenheim (both in the Haut-Rhin department) or Sparossino in Liguria.
