from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Jonquet dolmen (also called Tombèu last Jaiant ) is located near the D809 northwest of La Cavalerie in the Aveyron department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The simple dolmen ( French dolmen simple ) consists of a massive capstone, which is 4.35 m long and almost 4 m wide including a broken off part and whose weight is estimated at around 26.5 tons. It is open at the front and back and rests on two lateral supporting stones 4.50 m long and 1.70 m high. The remaining hill can only be guessed at.

Nearby is the Dolmen de la Fabière . The dolmens in the Aveyron often occur in groups and 92% of all dolmens are made of limestone slabs .
