The ideal “dolmen with corridor” ( French dolmen à couloir ) - here in the tumulus

The Dolmen of Port-Mélite (also called Mez er koh Mein ) is located near the beach east of the town in the north of the Île de Groix in the Morbihan department in Brittany in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The west-east oriented gangway dolmen ( French dolmen à couloir ) is open to the east. He was disturbed by robbery excavations. Most of the orthostats and three ceiling tiles, one of which is at the entrance, are still in place. The dolmen has largely lost its external structure. The length of the trapezoidal chamber is 2.5 m with a width of 1.8 m. Some bowls can be seen. No material has survived from the Cairn .

Nearby is the Allée couverte of Kerrohet .
