Skegrie dolmen

The Dolmen of Skegrie ( Swedish Skegriedösen ) is a dolmen in a barren bed from the Neolithic Age . It is located in Skegrie near Trelleborg in Skåne in Sweden , near the E6 . The funnel beaker culture (TBK) was built between 3500 and 2800 BC. Neolithic monuments are an expression of the culture and ideology of Neolithic societies. Their origin and function are considered to be the hallmarks of social development.

The rectangular dolmen ( Swedish Dös ) consists of two supporting stones on the long sides and two smaller ones on the narrow sides. The capstone is a large convex block. The low height of the chamber of the Skegried eyelets indicates an early development. The giant bed still consists of 17 wide set curbs.

Before the expansion of the E6 motorway, the Döserygg burial ground was discovered and excavated in the immediate vicinity .
