Dolmen of Styrdalen

The dolmen of Styrdalen (also called Hjälteby Runddösen ; RAÄ Valla 15: 1) is located west of Valla and north of Vallhamn and Habborsby on the island of Tjörn in Bohuslän Province in Sweden .

The dolmen ( Swedish Dös ) is located on a hill about ten meters in diameter, right next to the Hjältebyvägen road from Valla kyrka to Furusäter. Four bearing stones and a flat capstone protruding far on all sides form a small mushroom-shaped chamber. There are bowls on the capstone (15) and one of the bearing stones . The dolmen was excavated and restored in 1915.

To the east are the passage graves Valla 27: 1 and 50: 1 , to the west the Iron Age burial ground of Pilane (RAÄ Klövedal 105: 1 ) with seven large stone circles , six building stones , ten burial mounds and 57 low, round stone circles as well as the rock carvings by Basteröd with fifteen pictures of ships.
