Verdier Petit dolmen
The Verdier Petit dolmen is located east of Durbans and north of the Aérodrome de Figeac-Livernon in the municipality of Durbans in the Lot department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).
The Dolmen simple by Verdier Petit is massive. Its two side bearing stones support a 5.5 m long, 2.9 m wide and 40 cm thick ceiling plate. Their weight is estimated at 12 tons. The end stone or a corresponding dry masonry closure is missing, as is the access structure.
It is covered with a huge pile of reading stones , the weight of which broke the ceiling plate in the middle.
