Pilgrimage Church of the Purification of the Virgin

The Cathedral of the Purification of the Virgin Mary (Czech: Chrám Očišťování Panny Marie ) is located in Dub nad Moravou (Dub an der March), fourteen kilometers south of Olomouc (Olomouc) in Moravia . The patronage is derived from the earlier Latin name for the feast of the Presentation of the Lord , Purificatio Mariae , on February 2nd.

The cathedral and the baroque church in Dub nad Moravou are also known as the "Haná basilica". The cathedral was built in the years 1734–1756 by the architect Jiri Klíčník . The ship is 60 meters long, 29 meters wide and 39 meters high. The baroque monuments of St. Florian (1733), St. John Nepomuk (1739) and St. Joseph (1740) are extremely valuable . Other monuments are the stone cross by the church, the chapel of St. Margaret with a fountain and an old linden tree. Also noteworthy in this pilgrimage church is the baroque organ from the workshop of the organ builder Jan Vymol from Brno .
