The Domaine du Rayol is a French garden. It is located in Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer between Le Lavandou and Cavalaire in the Var department .

The property was created in 1910 by the businessman Alfred-Théodore Courmes as a retirement home. He created a park and a fruit and vegetable garden around the house. The couple sold the house to a real estate company, who converted it into a hotel. The park was sold in 1940 by the widow Thérèse Courmes to the aircraft manufacturer Henry Potez , who lived here during the Second World War. After the war, the site fell into disrepair as a summer residence, but could be saved from real estate projects.

Since 1989 the site has been owned by the Coastal Protection Authority (Conservatoire du Littoral). In the same year this commissioned the botanist and landscape architect Gilles Clément to redesign the park. Under his guidance and with the support of the botanist François Macquart-Moulin, the garden was restructured by the chief gardener Jean-Michel Battin.

He divided the park into several areas, in each of which he planted plants from an area of the world that have climatic conditions similar to the Mediterranean climate . Plants from the Mediterranean region, California, Chile, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand as well as China can be found. The existing planting of exotic plants in the park was partially used for this purpose. Another watered area shows subtropical plants from Central America.

The site also houses the buildings that were built at the beginning of the 20th century: the small manor that served as the first residential building, the Hôtel de la Mer, and the Villa Le Rayolet, built between 1925 and 1940 by architects Guillaume Tronchet and Raoul Minjoz.
