The Domenig stone house in Steindorf am Ossiacher See was planned and built by the architect Günther Domenig between 1982 and 2008 on his private property on the shore of Ossiacher See . The interior fittings and the construction of the outdoor facilities, such as the “black hill”, began in 1996. Landscape formations with rock and vegetation zones, hills and gorges, but also architecture from the rural area served as the motifs for the architecture. The house has been a listed building since 2012 ( list entry ).

The usable area of the five-storey building is approx. 850 m², the cubature approx. 3500 m³. The building is divided into an east and a west half, divided by the cube - a steel and glass construction - and the gorge. A staircase leads from the gorge into the spiral room on the second, deepest basement floor.

The architecture house Carinthia in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee has taken over the use as a workshop for architecture and as an interdisciplinary experimental facility with seminars and workshops . In the summer months the house can be visited inside. There are also guided tours.
